I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this lovely family for an outdoor maternity session recently. It could not have been a more perfect fall day and I don’t know about you, but fall attire is some of my favourite! The plaid, the jeans, the boots, what more could you ask for when hanging out in nature enjoying all of God’s splendour.

This family definitely keeps God close to all that they do, and are very thankful for the land they are blessed with to provide for their family. Jenn looked absolutely stunning in her casual red long sleeved shirt, perfectly showing off her pregnant belly. Their precious baby girl Adrie is already so very loved.

Being outside for their maternity session was perfect, as they are an outdoorsy bunch. They like going on road trips, and going to see rodeos. They even hold Cowboy Church all through the summer. Mason, their adorable toddler, loves to be outside and running around, using his toy lawn mower and toy chainsaw to “help” with chores. He was an bundle of joy the entire session, with perfect smiles for my camera and a lot of love for mommy and daddy.

One of my favourite photographs was of the three of them looking at the creek. The expression on Dad’s face was exactly like his son’s! Both of them look full of wonder at the beauty of nature.

First-born maternity sessions normally have a lot of focus on just mommy-to-be but when there’s already a little in the picture, it feels a lot more like family pictures, which is fine by me! There is a lot of love here and that is my favourite thing to photograph.
