Sarah Markus Photography ~ Newborn Session

A few months ago I held a contest for a free newborn session, and these adorable three siblings won! Well, really, their mama won, but look at these cute faces. I could not believe how lucky I was that my contest winner came with the most well-behaved and sweet children.

We are dairy farmers in Ontario, and our farm is also where my studio is. When I gave mama the address, she said it sounded familiar. I opened the door and she said “I remember why the address is familiar!” Turns out she’s related to the previous owners of the farm, whom we bought it from three years ago. They had been here many times before. Small world!

Taking the photographs of the siblings was a breeze, they were dreams in front of the camera and followed all my directions and handled baby sister with such tenderness and care. Mom had also followed my newborn prep guide to the letter, and her newborn baby girl was asleep the entire session. Little miss weighed almost ten pounds at birth but she was the perfect rolly polly size! We used one of my favorite headbands- I actually got it at a Canadian Trunk Show because Twine and Lace doesn’t usually ship to Canada. I am a huge fan, I love her work!

For newborn baby girl’s solo photographs, I chose a pink ruffle blanket to wrap her up in from Mia Joy Studio and used my absolute favorite little bed from The Original Photoblocks Props in Netherlands. Baby girl looked so sweet posed in her bare bottom shots and she was equally gorgeous in a bonnet and headband, so I just went back and forth! The sage headband is from The Dainty Miss.

I love meeting new clients, I hope to see this sweet family again in the future, especially since they already know their way to the farm so well!
